RENOVATION / DEMOLITION WASTE

Any waste that looks like it’s from a renovation and or demolition in a building that is older than 1990 must be tested for asbestos. We cannot pick up the bin unless it has the proper documentation that it was tested and free of asbestos or other potential hazardous materials. Some of the products,  but not limited to that require testing include drywall, plaster, stucco, vinyl flooring, plumbing fixtures and painted wood.

We cannot accept any drywall unless it meets the following criteria:

  • 1990 or newer that is date stamped does not require testing
  • If drywall is not date stamped testing is required
  • 1990 or older will require testing

We can submit an application to Hartland Landfill for the disposal of clean demolition/renovation water on your behalf! To obtain a permit for transporting renovation waste directly to Hartland, the following supporting documents are required:

  • Hazardous Materials Assessment
  • Clearance Letter, if hazardous materials were found
  • TCLP (Lead Leachability test, if necessary)
